About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and person-centred Support Worker to join our team, supporting adults living in supported accommodation. The role involves providing 5 hours of dedicated support per week to each individual, helping people to develop and maintain their independence, manage everyday responsibilities and engage positively within their community. Our residents may have multiple and complex support needs, and the successful candidate will be someone who is patient, empathetic and able to build trusting, professional relationships.
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
· Providing practical and emotional support to individuals in their own accommodation.
· Supporting individuals to maintain their property, including developing routines around cleaning, organisation and household tasks.
· Helping individuals with money management, budgeting and understanding their financial responsibilities.
· Supporting individuals to manage and pay utility bills and household expenses.
· Encouraging individuals to develop greater independence in managing their home and daily life.
· Supporting individuals who may experience social isolation, encouraging meaningful social interaction and community involvement.
· Helping individuals access appropriate community services, activities and resources.
· Supporting individuals to identify and work towards their personal goals.
· Encouraging confidence, self-esteem and independent living skills.
· Maintaining accurate and confidential records of support provided.
· Working collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies and other professionals where appropriate.
· Promoting safeguarding, dignity, choice, inclusion and respect at all times.
We are looking for someone who:
· Is caring, compassionate and genuinely committed to supporting others.
· Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Is patient, understanding and able to work with people with a range of support needs.
· Can encourage independence while providing appropriate practical support.
· Is organised and able to manage responsibilities effectively.
· Understands the importance of confidentiality, safeguarding and professional boundaries.
· Is reliable, dependable and able to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
· Has experience working in a care, support, housing or community setting. Experience is desirable but not essential, depending on the needs of the service.
· Has flexibility with working hours and is willing to work a range of shifts where required to meet the needs of the service.
· Holds a Level 3 Adult Care qualification or equivalent. This is preferred but not essential, depending on experience and suitability for the role.
