Early Success and Expansion for Bishop Auckland Coffee Shop

The Beehive Coffee Shop, which opened in June 2025, has seen early success in both sales and community outreach, following feedback provided in a recent customer survey. Profits made from the Beehive are reinvested into the Angel Trust charity, meaning more support for local people.

In association with the Angel Trust, the coffee shop was opened to offer a big chain experience at an affordable price for local residents. The Beehive employs full-time staff alongside a fantastic team of volunteers. Serving breakfast, lunchtime specials and handmade cakes, the Beehive is proving popular amongst County Durham residents and those travelling from further afield, with some even commuting over an hour to visit.

The Beehive recently conducted a survey of its customers, with over 95% reporting that they enjoyed the dining experience. After listening to the feedback, the Beehive is now opening on a Monday, starting on August 18th.
