Angel Trust have saved the phone box to prevent it being disposed of by BT. All the legalities are with BT and should be in Angel Trust's possession by the end of November. Hundreds of phone boxes across the country are being de-commissioned because everyone has a mobile these days. However, we feel it’s part of the Bishop Auckland Market Place landscape. The box will have no telephone, but will be utilised as a mini “town information center“.
