Chance Drama presented £500

Today a member of our team met the wonderful people at Chance Drama to present £500 to help fund the costumes for their upcoming pantomime. 

Chance Drama based in Ferryhill have over 45 members starting from 7 years old. The group meet once a week to perfect their shows ready for the big performance. 

Their upcoming pantomime ’Babes in the wood’ will run on January 30th, 31st and February 1st at Mainsforth Community Centre. If you would like to support the group and purchase tickets please contact Joan Harker on 01740652551

Angel Trust deliver baby hampers to PACT House

: Angel Trust were delighted to welcome The Lord Lieutenant Mrs Sue Snowdon to The new Angel Trust Hub in Bishop Auckland to show her our facilities and to discuss current projects

.

Angel Trust Chief Executive Clair Mcgregor and Lord Lieutenant travelled to PACT House in Stanley which provides a charitable link to the local community to donate new soft toys children’s pyjamas, winter gloves as well as baby hampers. All items will be distributed in time for Christmas to the local community.

PACT House operates 7 days a week giving support and advice on everything from domestic violence, homelessness and mental health issues. They make it a priority that no one should ever go hungry.

Angel Trust grant £500 to The Woodlands School

Today we met some staff and students from The Woodlands in Ferryhill.

We presented them with a cheque of £500 to enable them to go on a residential trip that they otherwise would not be able to afford. This residential trip will allow the students to learn away from a school environment and hopefully have a positive impact on their educational journey.

New scooter for youngster

November 23, 2019

On Thursday we met Jarred and his dad Michael. Unfortunately Jarred had his scooter stolen from him while out playing and then shattered his knee cap following this.

We were informed about this incident and decided to treat Jarred to a brand new scooter and safety equipment.

After chatting to them we also invited them to attend our Free Christmas Dinner at Hardwick Hall, to give the family a well deserved treat!

We hope you have fun and we’re glad your on the mend.

3 Brave women shave their heads in aid of Angel Trust

We would like to say thank you to these 3 lovely ladies who bravely shaved their heads to raise money for us. An amazing £647.93 was raised on the day, WELL DONE!

This money will help those in need in County Durham and Darlington.

Angel Trust Hub Grand Opening

We would like to give a big THANK YOU to all who attended and contributed to the formal opening of the newly refurbished Angel Trust Hub!

Our ‘Hub’ offers excellent education/training facilities as well as a base for our volunteers to work from.

We are extremely grateful to all of the individuals and businesses that have contributed towards The Angel Trust Hub, this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of you amazing and generous people!

Outstanding £80,500 raised at The 16th Annual Oyster Festival

A big thank you to John Adamson, Hardwick Hall Hotel and Barclays who helped us raise an outstanding £80,500 at The 16th Annual Oyster Festival on Friday 27th September 2019!!

We are amazed by the support that was shown and are extremely grateful to everyone that attended and contributed... thank you!!

All of the money raised will go towards helping the local communities within County Durham and Darlington!

Noah’s Bedroom Makeover

After hearing about Noah's story, we were desperate to do something to help!!  When we heard about Noah's story, we were desperate to do something to help!!

 

11-month-old Noah was born with Spina Bifida, Cat Eye Syndrome, Dislocated hips and knee and Hydrocephalus meaning he has received a brain shunt. Noah is currently being cared for by his grandparents, who were struggling to give Noah his own space.

 

After hearing about this wish, we wanted to do everything we could to give Noah his very own bedroom to take some pressure away from his generous and caring grandparents.

Get Well Soon Max!

One of our trustees Betty Moffatt made a special visit to meet Max.

Max has recently been discharged from hospital after having heart surgery, meaning he hasn't been able to go out and enjoy himself this summer holidays. We surprised Max with lots of games and toys to keep him and his family entertained while he recovers from his operation.

We wouldn't be able to do what we do without all of the fantastic donations we receive from the community, so a big thank you to everyone!!  Get well soon Max!

Local Girls Football Club awarded funding!

One of our trustees, Betty Moffatt went to meet Bishop Auckland Girls FC during their training session.

We presented them with a cheque for £500, to allow the club to expand and buy new goal posts.

Angel Trust have worked alongside Durham Constabulary to put a smile back on 10-year-old Hamza's face.

Hamza was assaulted whilst playing in a park with his friend, he suffered a broken arm which required two surgeries on his elbow and shoulder. Unfortunately, the paramedics on the scene had to cut off Hamza's favourite Barcelona football shirt.

Members of the Angel Trust team, PCSO Christine O'Brien and PCSO Jen Atkinson went to visit Hamza and his family to surprise him with a new Barcelona football strip.

We hope this cheered you up after the terrible few weeks you've had, you are an extremely brave young man!!

Surprise gift for 4 year old Cooper!

Some members of the Angel Trust team headed out to surprise 4 year old Cooper!!

Cooper is 4 years old and daily life for him and his family is sometimes difficult as he is suffering from an extremely rare condition which means he requires assistance to breathe, eat and communicate. Cooper needs regular medical suction to breathe through a tracheostomy. His muscles are very weak and he cannot move himself or sit up.

Cooper’s family are currently raising funds to renovate their home to make it more comfortable for Cooper, their plans include creating a downstairs bedroom, bathroom and specialist equipment to make daily tasks easier.

We gifted Cooper with a brand-new iPad to allow him to have entertainment from his own comfort.

We want to say a huge thank you to 5-year-old twins Callum & Joshua for raising an amazing £346 for Angel Trust.

The boys did a sponsored 1km run and a sponsored read. It is fantastic how caring and ambitious these boys are at such a young age, keep it up boys!!

A big thank you to Steven Colwell who is walking 2 miles every day for 365 consecutive days, totalling a huge 730 miles.  Steven is smashing his fundraising target, having already raised over £1400 for the trust!!

Stevens story: Starting boxing day 2018... I will be walking 2 miles every day for 365 consecutive days. May not seem much, but those of you who know how much trouble I have had walking (due to a mega injury to my quads, knee and kneecap) for the last 6 years know it will be a tough task. I was unable to walk unaided for just under 3 of them!
