About the Role
To provide a safe, supportive, and responsive environment for vulnerable individuals accessing the night hub. To monitor wellbeing, offer practical and emotional support, and respond effectively to any incidents or crises. To promote dignity, respect, and independence while safeguarding individuals from harm. To ensure the hub operates smoothly overnight in line with policies and best practice.
Responsibilities
· Oversee the safety and wellbeing of all individuals within the night hub during overnight hours.
· Provide emotional and practical support, including listening, signposting, and basic needs assistance.
· Monitor the environment, conduct regular checks, and manage access to ensure a safe space.
· Respond calmly and effectively to incidents, crises, or safeguarding concerns.
· Maintain accurate records, logs, and handover reports for incoming staff.
· Uphold organisational policies, including safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality.
· Promote respectful behaviour and de-escalate conflicts where necessary.
We are looking for someone who:
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
· Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging or crisis situations.
· Good observation and risk awareness skills, with a proactive approach to safety and safeguarding.
· Empathy, patience, and a non-judgemental attitude when supporting vulnerable individuals.
· Ability to work independently during night hours and use sound judgement in decision-making.
· Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
· Basic IT and record-keeping skills for maintaining accurate reports and logs.
· Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality principles (or willingness to learn).
· Has flexibility with working hours and is willing to work a range of shifts where required to meet the needs of the service.
